A mind is a terrible thing to waste.

Man we had some nice weather for a little while there.  It was even pretty warm yesterday despite the rain.  I was over in Catonsville the other day visiting all the grandparents on my family's side.  I got lucky until it was time to head home.  That was when the rain started up again and it was during traffic.  Which of course in this state means everyone goes twice as slow.

Looks like I might be volunteering for a second organization soon.  There is a new arts organization where I live that is working on establishing their own location.  They are going to need some help with special events, marketing, fundraisers etc.  I have a meeting on Monday to hear their specific needs, we will see if I can be of any help!

I need to pick up some more ingredients today for a new supper recipe.  I've been trying something new almost every night now.  Since I've discovered our library I tend to always grab a cook book along with novels and Cd's.  So far I've been trying out Jamie Oliver's stuff, he's The Naked Chef guy.  A lot of English dishes that don't always go over well with Scott, but some aren't half bad.

For all you ladies out there, March 15th I'm hosting a tea party at the house.  Yeah it is very girly but we're not doing old fashioned.  Send me an email if you want me to forward the evite to you, because I know I don't have everyone's email.  Plus some of your lives are so busy now I wasn't up for bothering you unless it was of interest to you!

I think my Sunday can best be summed up with a list post!

  • Accidentally washed and dried a gift card and it's envelope in the laundry.  (I blame Scott since it was in his shirt)
  • Spent way too much money at the grocery store.  (Again, blame Scott because he came along and bought food for a family of four)
  • Finished an other Koontz book since gaming was canceled...again.
  • Made my first ever English pudding.  Turned out a little runny and I can't seem to understand the process of meringue.
  • Watched the Oscars and actually stayed awake!
  • Did some research on part time work and more volunteer gigs

Oh why does my head feel so wishy washy?  I think it's because this morning was slow hours jammed in between filled up social hours.  For some reason my body does better if everything comes in blocks.  Like social, party, party, social, then finally relax by weekend.  Not social, party, social, rest, relax, reading, party, social.

Yesterday was wonky since a lot of people had off from ice or snow.  Scott worked from home so I ran errands, then we went to the gym earlier then usual.  Next it was a quick shower then out for the night for dinner and a movie.  I think we are like the last people to finally see Juno.  IF you haven't gone to see it please do, it is one of the better films I have seen in a while.

Today I slept in a bit since my night was kinda late.  All I did for most of the day was read which causes me to fall asleep if I do it too long.  Waking up from my nap my head really hates me now.  I think I have gotten too much sleep in a day.  Now we are getting ready to go out for Shaun's birthday dinner, and if we can make it we have Mike who is also having his own birthday party at his apartment.

It is getting to be that time of year when everyone's birthdays start squishing together.  Or everyone is getting married or popping out babies.

As you have probably noticed by now, I have added a new section to the website.  I've now got my performing arts stuff up!  Over the past four years or so my positions in theatre have been in management and administration, and all pretty much at Everyman.  There was never really any point of putting my stuff up once I had gotten the website, since I was working fulltime and in one place.  I mean this is only less then a year old after all.

But now that I am diving back into stage management, crew, acting, or exploring film/media for behind the scenes assistance, I figured why not!  I know my resume has my email on it and my email clearly screams this must be attached to a website.  I know if I were an employer and I saw something like that on someone's resume I would type it in to see if it had a website or not.  Well now that I've actually added some things to the site I can even add the website link to the resume now.

The only down side is you can't really display anything for any backstage or admin work you have done.  So if someone only goes to look at pictures and not read the actual resume they might think I haven't done much or in a while.  Not true!  We will see if putting the section there was a good idea or not.

It was a gray and cloudy winter day today.  So what do you do on days like this?  Stay in the warm indoors and share good food with good people.  At the Indian food place off York Road we met up with Michelle, Josh, Shaun, Jenny and Russell.  Two hours of good conversation and spicy eats.

Our waiter was absolutely insistent that I order a drink of some kind.  Everyone else at the table ordered these mango frozen drinks.  I said I didn't want anything but the guy brought me a strawberry one anyway.  I gave it to the table, I said I didn't want one, and Shaun said it tasted like liquid Pez.

After saying goodbyes we took the scenic back roads home.  Driving past Mt. Caramel and the Monkton areas always makes me jealous of those people and their damn big houses.  One of the table conversations we all had today was how silly it is that you can go to Georgia and buy a large family house and several acres for $200,000.  In Maryland that gets you a two bedroom, one bath, with a 20x15 yard near the PA line.  Sick.
