A few days ago my second order from the Soap Box Company arrived. They are like a giant bath and body outlet for personally owned companies. At the start of the month I ordered some soaps from there for the first time. I thought they would make nice holiday gifts for some individuals. Recently Soap Box had a giant sale because of their three year anniversary, so I decided to get some things for myself on a second run.
What was nice is that the order also came with a sample box in honor of their birthday. This has given me the chance to try some things from some of the companies that I would have been afraid to try on my own.
What's in the box?
Samples by: Villainess (2 exclusives), Bubble Shack, Althaea, Super Bad, Possets, Magic Hands Workshop and Four Seasons Fragrance (an all-new company coming soon!)
So far I have only tried two of the lotion samples.
Masala by Villainess: A whipped body cream that coats the skin tremendously. The heavy spice scent is a little too overpowering and musky for me.
Sweet Hawaiian Plumeria by BubbleShack: Lotion with a more standard consistency. Coming right out of the bottle it also smells overwhelming. However after it dissipates on the skin the scent can be calming and feel pure.
I delved into one of my Sephora perfume samples this month as well. I figured since the weather was finally turning fall like I would need to switch my scent out of fruity and floral mode.
Touch by Tocca: Not something I would ever consider on my own. While this is also slated as a floral combination it gives off more of the old lady vibe then what I am used to.
Samples are a good thing though. Sometimes they open your eyes to wonderful things, in this case they teach you what to avoid.
